Confirmation

Confirmation of Children

Like most parishes in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, children in Our Lady of Lourdes parish are normally confirmed in eighth grade. Confirmation at Lourdes is usually in November. Preparation begins in seventh grade and takes place primarily in class at the parish full-time school or PSR program. Families not enrolled in either program, homeschooled, should contact the parish two years before confirmation to develop a plan to complete the preparations for the Sacrament.

Confirmation of Adults

Those older than eighth grade who, for whatever reason, have not been confirmed have several options depending on their circumstance. Adults can be prepared for Confirmation through the OCIA program for adult converts or in individual instruction with a parish priest. Adults are confirmed at the parish during the Easter Vigil, at the Cathedral on Pentecost, or at other times as needed. Contact a priest for more information.

Accompany with your blessing from this day forward, O Lord, those who have been anointed with the Holy Spirit and nourished by the Sacrament of your Son, so that, with all trials overcome, they may gladden your Church by their holiness and, through their works and their charity, foster her growth in the world.
